The Coalition for San Francisco Neighborhoods supports a site East of Highway 101 near the Eastern end of César Chavez Street/near Old Bayshore as the appropriate location for a Day Laborer Center, to include hiring, training, and ample off-street parking. Furthermore, in the interest of safety, it supports the recommendation that there be a stop to both soliciting work in the streets and hiring workers off the street, and that this be enforced by the Police. The SPEAK Board recommends that the next available San Francisco Airport Commission appointment be given to a recognized neighborhood representative and, in the future neighborhoods will always have representation on the San Francisco Airport Commission. (SPEAK)

CSFN opposes the amendment to the Yerba Buena plan referred to as the Emporium site.
CSFN hereby urges the Board of Supervisors to refer to the City Planning Commission the proposed legislation to rescind Administrative Code Chapter 31 and enact a new Administrative Code Chapter 31 to adopt new procedures and new fees to implement the California Environmental Quality Act and urge the City Planning Commission to submit recommendation or recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
That a citywide forum for exploring the alternatives to the proposed SFO runway expansion plan should be convened as soon as possible, bringing together local neighborhood groups and citywide coalitions to promote understanding of the impacts of the current proposal and the possibilities for a better proposal which will not worsen quality of life in the City or the environment of the Bay.
CSFN requests the Board of Supervisors to convene as soon as possible a hearing to determine how these proposed teacher-housing units ?t into a plan for building new affordable housing in San Francisco. (SPEAK)
The Dianne Feinstein Elementary School playground is an inappropriate site for the proposed 43 teacher-housing units and garage and therefore should not be built there. (SPEAK)
The CSFN hereby strongly urges the Planning Commission to continue to keep "Public Comment" as Calendar Item B on the Planning Commission calendar and before the Calendar Item C "Commissioners Questions and Matters" on the Planning Commission calendar. (ISAC).

The Coalition for San Francisco Neighborhoods opposes Sunset Scavengers proposed rate increase and three-can recycling concept and asks the San Francisco Dept of Public Works to deny their application. (Excelsior District IA)
That the city not set the new higher rates for collection of waste and recycling by NorCal until the rate payers are informed in writing of what the proposed new rates would be for the next ?ve years; and
That apartment buildings containing more than 6 units have their particular needs for recycling and composting in their speci?c buildings met by the program and
That the CSFN urges the Board of Supervisors to seek a delay of 6 months in the imposition of rate changes so that a public hearing can be held to review the speci?c rate requests and to study these and other questions regarding the implementation of the wase recycling program. (SPEAK).
That the Coalition for San Francisco Neighborhoods is opposed to any expansion of the Potrero Power Plant that will not reduce the overall total pollution of PM10, NOx, SO2, and other pollutants below current levels within the Bayview/Hunters Point and Potrero communities.
That until a commitment is received to shut down Hunters Point Power Plant and Potrero Units 4,5 and 6 (Peakers) and to require a retro?t of the existing main Unit 3 at Potrero Power Plant with least emitting pollution control technology, and an agreement that this unit will be permanently shut down once the facility is no longer needed to sustain electric reliability in San Francisco, the Coalition for San Francisco Neighborhoods is opposed to any new Power Plants in South East section of San Francisco.
That the City must develop an overall, long-term energy plan which includes: improved transmission lines from the East Bay: distributed energy sources, such as photovoltaic and energy cells: and an aggressive program of energy conservation. (PHBA)
The CSFN opposes Board of Supervisors File No. 002107 (Leno) which proposes changes in the Planning Code regarding Planned Unit Developments (PUD) as it is written at this time so that the character of San Franciscos residential neighborhoods is not subjected to doubling of their existing density without infrastructure improvements and other safeguards, since such legislation should be crafted with the differences in the neighborhoods in mind and not as a one-size-?ts-all amendment to the code. That CSFN strongly opposes use of Prop E money for Main Library upgrades, supports use of Prop E money to purchase branch books and expand branch hours, rejects the cynical and illogical contention that the Main Library is actually a branch library and reaf?rms that there are 26 branch libraries and one Main Library in the SF system. That the CSFN ask the Port of San Francisco to postpone any decision on the development of Pier 27-31 until the public has more information and input, and until environmental and transportation issues are analyzed. (NBN)

That CSFN strongly urges the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors to reject the proposed amendment to the Planning Code to authorize one additional unit to the existing residential buildings in various zoning districts throughout San Francisco. (ISAC)
