PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CSFN BYLAWS:
At the request of the Nominating Committee, the Bylaws Committee submits the following amendment to Article VI, Elections, Section A.:
Strike out in line 2, “whose organization has been represented at no fewer than”, and insert, “who have attended at least six meetings within the twelve months including the April meeting immediately preceding the May meeting wherein the candidate will stand for election”, so that the section will read: “A. Eligibility for Office. Only those delegates or alternates duly representing member organizations in good standing, and who have attended at least six meetings within the twelve months including the April meeting immediately preceding the May meeting wherein the candidate will stand for election, shall be eligible to run for office. Eligibility must be confirmed by written signature in the attendance log. Signature of either the delegate and/or the alternate will qualify for the minimum mandatory six meetings.”
The Nominating Committee expressed the view that the purpose of requiring attendance of an individual is to insure that the candidates are currently aware of the matters before the CSFN meetings. The Bylaws Committee has not met in a face to face meeting, but concurs in placing this matter before the assembly, to be voted on at the April meeting, prior to the report of the Nominating Committee.
